Do you remember post 'Venice carnival.com ' ? The post shows an agency website which helps participants get accomodation, costiums and tickets. The authourised agency co-ordinates with the host of the carnival but they are not an official website.
Introducing you CARNIVAL OF VENICE 2014, luckly in english language !
On the main website we can find hotels, book a ticket and social media sources such as:
- Instagram - a first pic about COV'14 appeard 3 month ago and then 3rd Feb (!)
- Twitter -they twit for the whole year to remind people they exist, which is good!
- Facebook- a first post what promoted the event was on 22th July 2013 and presented Guidelines for 2014 edition of the Carnival of Venice
Even social media which play huge role in marketing in this century are not like I was expecting to be from the world famous Carnival.

I am trying really hard to find any other advert or marketing tools of the Carnival of Venice but my findings ending on a YouTube channel and few privet films and press releases in English. In General English media did not show interest of advertising or promoting Carnivale.

These two online magazines below, mentioned about Carnival on the day it has started or even later.
What shows that the Event marketing is not really wide and developed, exept social media and YT channel.
Privet people who made an effort and put many films on the internet or travel companies owned a websited link to the carnival, cannot do all job for the advertising or PR ! It is my opinion anyway.
On the beginning or February, journalist and Telegraph expert in Venice, A.Hanley wrote an arcticale about Carnival. She answered on some questions and reccomend Venice as a place and also Carnivale itself.

The local community or stakeholders are more likely to promote The Carnival of Venice rather than official organisators themself.
Travel angency, photographers, hotels, tourism agency, local shops and restaurants try to reach people from all around the world to visit Venice and spend money!
However I have noticed that on Carnivale's Facebook , Twitter or Instagram, launguage they use to comuniate with pottencial audiance is mostly Italian. Why?
Maybe administator thinks that Event is enough popular that they do not need put post in English?
Or maybe they do not want us- foreign, to get involved in their own perennial, traditional carnival?
...
...
Carnival of Venice started 16th February and I still have not heard or seen any presages in English TV, radio or newspaper about Carnival of Venice.
Is it possible to think that world famous carnival does not need a proper and rich marketing, PR side?
Maybe sponsorships is not enough?
Do spread words suffice?
I ll try to answer in next post
